Journal 9

1. What is the writer trying to find out more about through their research (what research question guides her work)?
How students negotiate different genres with which they come across.
2. How does this author collect the data she needs to answer her question?
The author uses the activity theory to determine goals in college. She also uses self-representation and performance to determine the outcome.
3. What sort of genres do you see your peers using as forms of “self-representation”?
My peers use writing styles that they may have learned or read to show self-representation.
